Jewelry sale with Eat so the Can - November 2011
The organisation Eat so they Can is an international organisation that we cooperate with in Shanghai. The ambassador for Shanghai is Shelly Bragg, an energetic and strong woman from South Africa. She has been in the organisation for many years and arranged many events. The event that we participated in was to help the Chinese children from the country side living in Shanghai. According to Chinas strict migration politics the children and their parents that move to Shanghai have basically no rights, for example no healthcare, no possibility to education and no rights to get an apartment. This evening was dedicated for the organisations that help these children to get a proper life and inform the urban society about the situation.
Jewelry auction with Pathways of Hope - October 2011
The jewelry auction (15/10-2011) was hosted by Pathways of Hope in Shanghai. One of the things that the organisation works is women from Nepal that were unfairly convicted to serve jail time. Path ways of hope helps the women to have a better life and teach them for example how to sew so they can adapt to a more stable life after jail time.
